Linksys wrt54g3g-st firmware questions

Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone can help me? I have a USA version of the wrt54g3g-st router which I was hoping to upgrade the firmware somehow so I can use it with Vodafone Australia.

I tried installing the firmware I downloaded fron linksys australia and it fails eveytime, I tried the openwrt firmware also but same problem.
The firmware that is in the router is version 2.00.9

Any help would be much appreciated.

Please check page 1 of the 39-page thread in this forum. If you have the correct bin file for the r75, you can use the Linksys firmware's upgrade utility to get OpenWRT going. It's quite easy, but won't work if you accidentally try the trx file instead. Once you have the r75 of OpenWRT, you could then use the trx files to upgrade from there (such as to r82).
