Sprint Referral

I just ordered and received a Franklin CDU-680 (but didn't have a chance to try it out yet).

I see that Sprint has a referral program whereby the referrer and the person referred both get a $25 Visa debit card. Since my brother has a Sprint phone, I asked him to give me a referral.

He did and the instructions say I need to enter #REF from my phone and follow the prompts. Since I can't do that with a modem, is there any other way to do this so we can both get the debit cards from Sprint or does this program only apply to phones and not modems?

They don't offer it on aircards just phones
