Ping times...who do I trust?

I'm really interested into getting into gaming using my EVDO connection. Thanks to you guys, I'm holding at a steady 800-900 kbps download speed at around the 140 range in uploading.

However, so I don't purchase a game and not be able to play it online, I did some ping testing. With speedtest.net, it says that my ping times are in the 500's, but when I go to a command prompt and ping someone like Google or Yahoo, my ping times are like 180-200. That's a really big difference and will certainly make a difference when it comes to gaming.

Soooo, which one is more reliable?

trust your ping results.. certainly not speedtest.net
check the alltel evdo section. there are posts there with my results from gaming on a rev.0 setup.
