|
|
Hey guys. I recently bought WoW. My thinking was *if I can play Halo on Xbox live with 4 green bars than surely I can play a mmo with little lag*. Apparently I was wrong lol.
I have alltel's unlimited wireless plan. Playing WoW (no expansions). Tried different servers all have the same problem. I can play the game for a while with green latency. Then about 5 mins it goes to yellow, wait another 5-10 minutes it goes red. My ping is slowly rising the entire time I play the game. I know there's nothing I can do to lower my ping but is there anyway to get a steady constant ping? My ping starts out at 200-250 which is GREAT for me. It'd be nice if I could just keep it between 200-300. Anyone know what's wrong?
Is this a WoW problem? An Alltel problem? One of those limitations to using wireless internet? A hardware problem?
Btw. My signal strength shows 3 bars occasionally lowering to 2 bars in the alltel program with -84 dbm RSSI on 1xEvdo, 88 on RTT. The speedtest from speedtest.net shows:
Download: 1020
Upload: 86
Ping: 295
Distance: 200mi
I'm using no router, no antenna, and no amplifier. All I have is a UM150 plugged into my usb port.
Thanks in advance,
-Taylor |
