Hello this is my first post here I just got saved from hughesnet and now have alltel and I realy like it I have a couple of questions here!
I took my laptop and drove toward the tower I am fixed on.I stopped a mile from my house and I got full signal and at my house I get between 2 and 3 bars with a external yagi antenna .I did a test and then I drove 2 miles from I house and tested. Will this help me (Wilson Cellular SIGNALBOOST Mobile and Home/Office Cellular/PCS Dual-Band Inline Amplifier 811210)[b] I have the UM150 and a MBR1000 ROUTER

Here is the test I got at home
.
Download 00337 kbps
Upload 00113 kbps
[1XRTT ] - 92 dbm
[ 1X EVDO ] -84dbm

Here is the test 1 mile from my house
Download 01122 kbps
Upload 00123 kbps

Here is the test 2 miles from my house
Download 01541 kbps
Upload 00102 kbps
[1XRTT ] - 74 dbm
[ 1X EVDO ] -74dbm
There is a hill between me and the tower.I have the antenna on top the house pointing at the tower.

hi Hollywood, welcome to the forum!

I don't know much about antennas, amplifiers, etc., so can't be of much help. Did you try calling 3Gstore to ask? Looks like you've done a nice job on the homework. Seems to me the biggest factor is how much taller that hill is with respect to your mounted antenna height.

the hill between you and tower is going to be a factor.

how much elevation change is there between you and that test you did a mile from home?

your test AT home, was already using a yagi? if so, how high off the ground was it?
