Trying to get EVDO at home this si my scenario
1xrtt tower 2miles away good signal,
EVDO tower 18 miles away, want to connect to it.
Buy a Yagi antenna aim and hope for the best.
Lets say the EVDO strength is 20% after aiming but the !XRTT is still there at say 40% because i am directional now.
Will the Novatel U720 automatically connect to the EVDO even thought the 1XRTT is stronger? if so i may just make it happen with a good yagi. |

Not sure about U720 but U727 in Sprint's Connection Manager:
Menu -->>Settings -->>Sprint Mobile Broadband - Novatel Wireless
When not connected, you can change the mode there and force evdo only.
Hope this helps. |

If you are Sprint customer and they support the aliant aircard, I'm (pretty) sure that their connection manager will work for you.
However, I searched sprint's site for both bell and aliant, and they weren't mentioned.
Edited to add:
A search there for aircard produced only sierra aircard hits. |
