All,

I am currently thinking about purchasing the UM150, i have alltel and I'm curious if it matters if I buy the Verizon or Alltel version. I have the CDU-550 i think and i am looking to buy a newer card that can take a external antenna. Any advice would be appreciated

Just call Alltel and ask them. I am not currently home but if you do not have their tech support phone number I can post it later. They actually answer pretty fast. When you call them to activate the UM150, you have to give them a number (ECN?) from the unit so they will know if it is Alltel or not.

I have the UM150 and am very happy with it so far.

If you want Alltel service be sure to buy an Alltel device. The data setups are pretty carrier specific from what I understand. Like with some smartphones you can flash and get other carrier's version to work as far as the phone service goes but for the most part the data side will never work.
