I have 3 laptops needed to be on my network at home with D-link 450 Router.
The connection software( Bell Mobile Connect) Takes control of my wireless connection, when modem is plugged direct into main PC for network, so i have to exit the software to go wireless with it. The Modem has 2 usb cables, can i plug one cable into the router (mandatory) and the other into my usb port on my laptop so i can use the signal strength meter and other options? Then the other 2 PCs can simply go wifi ...and get the net. The only reason i would do this is to see signal strength and what type of connection it is (1XRTT os EVD)) You do not even need the connection software installed in your pc as far as i am concerned, basically all you have to do is connect the modem to the router and your good to go for all the PC 's you want..all the configuration details are programmed by your dealer into the AirCard (modem) anyway ...so it dials and connects automatically. Connection software is only good for the bellas and whistles for me. So does it make sense or am doing something wrong? [/b] |
