So, i have been using my 595U on verizon with no problem whatsoever, both on OSX and Windows XP. On OSX i dont use the VZAccess manager, on XP i do.
When on OSX - it just says its connected, but receives nothing, therefore does not work.
On windows XP - It sticks on "Updating device" or about 5 minutes, then says "attempting to update your device again" for another 5 minutes. Then, it opens up verizons page in a webbrowser trying to get me to sign up to national access/broadband, although my bills paid, and i'm already signed up.
I went to open verizon access manager and click "TEST WWAN DEVICE" - and it came up saying my number was (001) - 552 xxxx.
This definitely is not my number, as its a (937) number, not a (001) number. Do i need to manually re-configure my device? I dont understand what happened. all that was changed was my computer went into standby when i closed the lid, and now the number isnt right, it cant activate or configure the device automatically, the number is listed wrong, and i defitely cannot connect to the internet.
wtf.
any suggestion would be lovely. I tried calling verizon but they're closed. :/
its also possible that there is some sort of issue here. it may not be the problem that i'm thinking it is, because i had verizons site send me a new password, and it DID show up in the verizon connection manager as a text message, so maybe the number is correct, and theres just some sort of other problem here. I tried logging into my account on verizons site and it seems as if it cant pull up my account info, usage, myaccount, etc etc. So maybe its just my account in general is screwed. blah. |
