Have you called them and ask if that tower has EVDO, since you seem to say that it isn't working from it. Maybe it is a problem at the tower that they need to have reported. Maybe something can be done to fix it.
Your set up may be fine, it is just being suggested that you could try something else since your set up isn't working the way that you have it now.
No, I'm not an Alltel employee, just a Verizon retiree. _________________ Ron |

| I'm not an Alltel employee, but an Authorized Agent store owner (Branded and Exclusive)....I would Definately call Alltel tech support and let them know that there is a problem... I'm in Florida and have excellent speeds up and down... esp. with the latest prl's you shouldn't have any problems at all... and dont mistake this post with me taking up for Alltel....I have my own issues with them I just know the Data is as fast as it gets out there....( well wirelessly ) Alltel uses Verizon and Sprint EVDO so theres no reason you shouldnt be getting it clear....Good Luck....B- |

| Alltel roams on Sprint's EVDO network and Verizon's 1xrtt data network when not in a native Alltel area. |

| According to the Alltel employees they dont piggy back off the other providers if your not within Alltel tower range. |

Imagine that. . . . . . cell phone reps who don't know what they're talking about . . . . . and are proud of i!!
Again, Alltel roams EVDO on Sprint and 1x on Verizon and most other CDMA carriers whenever you're not in a native Alltel area as long as you have the latest PRL which I'm pretty sure is still 40036. Been there, done it, roamed and got the t-shirt myself. |

He MR childs one thing you might think about is that evdo signal breaks down after about 3miles so if you are saying that you used a gps unit to see your distance from the tower and that the distance is x. if x>3 miles. You were not using that tower.
because if towers controled data nobody could use it unless you were in high density urban area's.
It is alright to state your opinion that this is a slow setup, but for the sake of the users here please do research before posting. Evdo tech is the same regardless of network. Thank you sprint for this delightful peice of information before disc my service |

The next closest tower to me is 12 miles. That is of any kind .
Not even a fire tower. So I have to recieve from that one.
Your statement about the 3 miles don't apply here.
