YOUNGSTOWN, OH — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless network, today announced the company will expand its network to the Youngstown area by launching service in Mahoning and Trumbull counties on Oct. 1.

Initial service will be available in these cities: Youngstown, Warren, Boardman, Niles, Ellsworth, Austintown and Canfield. Network service also will extend to the following areas:

Along Interstate 680 from Youngstown south to Lima
Along Interstate 80 from Cleveland northeast to the Pennsylvania border
Along Route 224 from Ellsworth east to the Pennsylvania border
Along Interstate 76 from Akron southeast to the Pennsylvania border
To provide the new network coverage, Verizon Wireless has invested nearly $9 million, with 33 cell sites in Mahoning and Trumbull counties scheduled for completion by Oct. 1.
