Hi,
Just got my MBR1000 tonight. I'm using it with an Alltel K680. Plugged it and it powered up with now problem. Plugged the aircard in and it connected. I then connected my laptop via wireless with no problem. I then connected my work lap top with no problem, I was even able to connect to my company with vpn.
I then started to download a large file, 600 MB. After about a half hour, I disconnected my VPN connection. I then noticed a minute or so later my download had stopped. Both laptops where showing they were connected to the router but I couldn't get the to router via web browser. Looking at the aircard lights, it looked like it was still connectd.
I had the router in the window and it felt warm, so I thought maybe it just overheated. So I powered it down, removed the aircard and started over again. I then resumed my download, about 2 hrs later, the same thing happened, laptop showed it was connected but I couldn't talk to the router.
Is there an issue with large file downloads or heat problems with this router.
thanks |

If you got it from 3G contact them direct as the don't always see the forums. Go to their website and contacts (support) hey do monitor email after hours at times. They'll help ya out.

Did you double check the firmware verison on the setup page?
I bought two from 3G, and the second one came with version 1.0.0 installed.
Also, I had seen at least two other reports here of folks having reboot the router every so often.
Of the two I have, one is solid when running FW version 1.1.0, and the other required rebooting frequently enough we had to take it out of service.

Just curious, How were you connected to the VPN?
If it was a MS Windows created connection you may want to check the properties of the connection.
Click on the Networking Tab
Select TCP/IP
Click Properties
Click Advanced
Make sure Use Default Gateway on remote network is unchecked. (Unless you need the VPN connection for all WWW activity, then disregard)
If you are connecting through the remote gateway and your VPN connection drops or times out, your internet client will reset the connection to the resource you are downloading as your route will have changed. |

| Something else to think about....the Alltel KPC680 isn't supported. Might be a reason for that, or they may not have been able to test it so it could be buggy. |

I am having some issues with my MBR-1000 as well, I will now check the firmware to make sure it is the latest, thanks for that information.
My router is doing two strange things...
1.) It seems to down the N-connection from time to time for no real reason and my computer has to reconnect.
2.) It seems to repeatedly disconnect my modem from the national access (verizon) and then re-negotiate the connection. It is very odd, seeing as how I have a 90dBm signal most of the time and 2 bars of national access.
Thoughts?
