Hi, I just wanted to confirm that there is no problem with using an external PCMCIA or USB card if the laptop has an embedded card in it already. I am getting a laptop through work with an embedded card but have my own PCMCIA card I already use and will continue to use because I've got multiple laptops.

Anything I should be worried about if I want to use external instead of what is built in? Would I just need to disable the embedded device and install drivers for my external?

One must be disabled, in devmgmt.msc or BIOS. Also, the imbedded cards have different drivers than the external-This may cause conflicts and usually does.
