Hi i was talking with a co-worker today about the usb modem because he also as one and he told me he got his bill from verizon and it was over $150 dollars? he told me that he chose the plan for about $60 a month.
now i am getting nervous, even though i am still on the trial run to see if i like it or not, you don't get charged for every mb you download or something do you?
also he said you only get nights and weekends free and during the day you get charged a min, is this true? he also said something about exceeding his allowence? whats that about? is there hidden charges that i am not being told about?
hope somebody can put my mind at ease, i already feel stressed enough. |

I just got verizon service with the usb 720 modem and I will try to help. Other more knowledgeable users feel free to chime in. The $60 a month for the internet is 24/7 doesn't matter when. As far as the data limit, yes there is one. They have a 5GB per month data cap. If you exceed this you will have to pay extra per MB. I would say if your going to be downloading tons of video or huge files this may not work for you. The Verizon software does show you how much data you have sent which makes it easier to track. As far as hidden charges go none that I no of except the one time activation fee. Hope this helps!
PS: So far mine seems to be working really nicely. |

I signed up about 2 months ago. My first bill was high ($100 or something like that) because it included 45 days instead of 30 since I signed up halfway into the month. My second bill was $60.00. Also, he is probably being charged a one time activation fee (I received free activation with a 2 year commitment). That would only be on the first month bill. This is all speculation. Ask to see his bill, and that should tell you what he is being charged for. _________________ Thanks! Tom |

Hey All,
I am a indirect sales agent for Verizon. When you activate a new line of service you always get charged a prorated month and the first full month on your first bill. So, the $59.99 per month fee will most likely not be $59.99 when you receive your first bill, unless your bill cycle date is the day you activate, which is highly unlikely. The first bill will incorporate the prorated month plus the full month. This is common throughout the cellular industry. You always pay a month in advance with post-pay cellular services.
Verizon use to be unlimited broadband, they recently put a cap on the monthly service (5GB per month). You can go over, but you will be charged per MB. The reason for the cap is because you had people who were abusing the service so to speak. Sling-boxes, Mail Servers, and the like were being implemented via their air cards. But lets face it, if you use over 5 GB per month you are doing some very heavy broadband access.
I used about 3 to 4 GB in the past 3 months. |

I've used 3gb in the last week lol. Good thing I'm on Sprint. That is also the first time I've heard vz charges for over the 5gb limit, the last I heard they just sent you as nast gram and and possibly cancelled your service. |
