Does anyone know the correct sequence for shutting down and removing the KPC650 card so that the Mac doesn't do a hard shutdown when I close the lid to put it to sleep? Occasionally I succeed, but most of the time my Powerbook G4 15" does a hard power off. I've tried various combinations of quitting VZAccessManager, turning of the card, etc. but can't seem to get the right sequence.

I just posted about this same type of problem with my Verizon PC5750 EVDO card.

When yours shuts down, are you getting a "kernel panic occurred" message after you turn the machine back on?

...just a message that there was an irregular shutdown. Last night I did something that might be the answer. I simply closed the laptop without quitting VZAccess or any other app. I then pulled out the card and was still seeing the flashing LED on the front of the panel. I was then able to open up the laptop and recover from sleep. I'll have to try this a few more times to make certain.
