I have alltel evdo rev 0 with a tower right behind my house. What is good ping? I get sometimes 1100 down and 120 up. Is this the most I can expect. I have a UM150 usb card. When I click on statistics sometimes it says almost 200 on upload capability. Does this mean anything. My prl is 4007. Can I change this to make it faster? TIA.

I am no more than 500 ft from the tower. Can it get better than this? TIA

You're gettng about as good as it gets for Rev 0. Some people get better downloads mostly in more urban areas where their tower has 2 T1 line whereas rural areas, and some urban areas as well, still only have a single T1.

As for your PRL, I assume you're mssing a 0 there Smile . . . . . it should be 40007. Either way the most current PRL is 40036. Search the forum for how to download it and manually intall it unless you have unlimited patience and time to wait around for Alltel to push it to your card. I think I've posted the directions 2 or 3 times in the past few days.

Steve, be sure you're disconnected Smile Smile first and, with the QLM showing on your screen, hold down "Ctrl D" and type in 000000 NOT diagsmsi as the password. Then type your activation code which is same as the password - 000000 (6 zeros - not the letter o)

The most common mistake people make in this is NOT disconnecting.

Let us know how it goes.

Here is a test I did a few mins ago. I am about 3.5 miles from the tower, in a very rural area.
