I have satellite have just started a new job, need reliable access. I got the UM150 from Alltel. My readings vary. I live in a gully. Down a hill, roughly a 50 foot incline or so. I can get RSSI 1xRTT and RSSI 1xEVDO as low as -75 about 1/4-mile from my home. In home, RSSI 1xRTT is -85 to -88 and 1xEVDO -87 to -105.

Outside of home tests at 1/4 mile with RSSI 1xRTT at -75 and RSSI 1xEVDO at -75 were 114.4 Kb/s out and 627.39 kb/s in, and also got 108.16 Kb/s out and 498.15 kb/s in.

I have no idea what these numbers mean, just reading the boards and trying to make some sense of it all.

I am on day 6 of 15 day trial. I need help! Can I get a good enough signal to dump satellite FAP? What will I need in order to do this, if possible? Any idea what kind of speeds I may be able to get with antenna/amp and MBR1000 router.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

LaLa -- Your quarter-mile download and upload speeds look good. An antenna would likely give you the boost you need. I'm not very knowledgeable about the various antenna products so can't be of much help. Did you call 3Gstore to ask their opinion?
