I bought a KR1 over 2 years ago. I returned it the same day I received it because I could not connect to the corporate intra-net using Nortel Contivity.
I then bought a Top Global MB8000. I was unable to connect with it, but Top Global sent me a firmware upgrade via email. That worked. I used it with pretty good results until 2 weeks ago when my V620 card died. Verizon didn't sell a PCMCIA modem card at the store where I was at so I had to buy a V720 USB card. Since the MB8000 didn't support the USB card, I searched for a replacement. I got the CTR350 today. I had to configure the application support to enable ports 50 and 500 to get the Nortel client to connect. It works like a charm. I turned off the wifi on the 350 and connected the ethernet port to my Apple Time Capsule and everything is great.
Cradle Point has my vote so far. _________________ RVUser |

Has anyone seen a cell router that will also connect to a Wifi network? I love the MBR1000 but that is the one thing that I would like to see added. Now I have to carry a second router to connect to a wireless network _________________ RF Infidel |

| Have a look on the small D-link travel router. It costs about $45 only. |

Had a Linksys router in a home network before going with the Cradlepoint.
As long as you didn't move your laptop it was fine. If you relocated to a different room you would lose the signal. The signal was very iffy at the other end of the house (60').
The Cradlepoint has been fantastic. I run 4 laptops and 2 xbox 360's on it (1 wired and 1 wireless). The wireless 360 is at the other end of the house and it works fine. We can take a laptop anywhere in the house, even the basement and out on the deck with no loss in signal.
When I tried Verizon's REV A with a KR-1 and a UM150 they didn't talk to each other at all. Called Verizon tech. support and Kyocera. Both techies said the two were incompatible even though the Verizon store said otherwise.

| I had a KR-1 which I bought from PCMall.com. It worked for just under a year (thank goodness) if you call resetting it everyday, working? Then it just died, one day. I called D-Link, Kyocera, and PCMall back and forth. Kyocera wouldn't warranty as PCMall is supposed, PCMall told me D-Link should warranty. After about ten calls and emails back and forth, PCMall finally said that they were having problems with the KR-1 and would not send me another one, but would refund my money. So, now I am sending it back and researching a new router (probably Cradlepoint). |

I have an USB727 and would like to know what the best router to use with my EVDO card. Cradlepoint or KR2. Any suggestions?
Thanks all

We love working with CradlePoint:
- much better support
- actual warranty replacement (if needed)
- our tech guys work very closely with CradlePoint
- cool stuff coming out in next firmware releases
- more form factors to better fit your needs _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Thank you for the reply. I just have seen comparisons between the MBR1000 and the KR1 no the KR2. I have seen the KR2 for $30 or so cheaper than the MBR1000.
Thanks |

The MBR1000 and KR2 are same almost identical. Both are even made my cradlepoint.
Except the KR2 has a PCMCIA slot |

| As soon as I pull the trigger on a CTR500 I can do a comparison between that, and the Linksys 3GV2 that I also have. |

I guess I'll bite too then...lol
Just today I was woken up to the sweet sound of fedex (9:30 Arizona time). Once I realized who it was I obviously rushed out and about ripped the package from his hand. Long story short, after only about 15 minutes of setup, and one small hiccup during the process I was online and convincingly. The other one I owned did not even let me browse the web. So far I have downloaded a ps3 update (with help from the pdf file) and playstation home. In my opinion, you can't find a better router out there than cradlepoint. |

I can second that one. I just did the latest firmware update to my CTR500 and man, this thing is rock solid. I can keep it up and running for a week+ without a reboot and it works every time. WAYYYY better than my 3gv2! |
