|
|
Until yesterday I used an LG Muziq...usually through my CTR350 router. Outstanding, except that the bozos at LG didn't config the cable to accept power and PAM at the same time, so you run down the phone using it.
...but I digress.
However the LG was used, direct or via router, the download speeds toppped out at 500 to 800kbps down, and about 120 up.
I switched to the Mogul and did the same tests....on direct connection to the computer via PAM only. What a difference! The lowest download speed was about 1000, with a more typical download speed of 1300 to 14ookbps. Upload speeds on the current rev O network show no improvement, which is to be expected.
All in all, tethering from one phone to another is not the same. I'm expecting good things when Rev A comes out.

I found an after market cable for my A900 that will allow PAM and charging at the same time. It's nice, since the A900 is notoriously bad for battery life. The cable I found is retractable, so the cable stays neat and tidy when it's in my laptop bag.
Maybe one of these cables exists for your musique? Mine came from www.macmedia.com.

I tried an after market cable for the LG that was supposed to charge while it supplied network....pfff...it turned out to be a CFP. Thats a very special kind of Chinese Puzzle.
In any case, the Mogul delivers super download speeds compared to the LG. I think there's good reason to believe that the Mogul with Rev A will be quite competitive with cards and USB uits.

My A900 is a interim phone. I bought it on eBay to replace a handset that was dying. I can't afford the Mogul right now, but I wanted to save my upgrade credit until I can afford it.
I'm glad to hear the Mogul does that well as an EVDO modem.
