I just received and installed the mbr1000 with the CDU-680 (Sprint) and it's working great .
For backup -- and for where I can't get Sprint -- I'd like to be able to use my Km1 (Verizon) phone into the router.
So, a couple of questions: 1) is any USB cable OK? 2) Anything that I need to know regarding setting the router or the phone before plugging it in? 3) What shoudl I do vis-a-vis calling/data plans with Verizon and my current phone plan?
Would appreciate the knowledge & advice of those on this forum. Many thanks in advance. |

1) Any USB cable is ok (as long as the plug fits your phone, of course)
2) No real trick. If you plug in both at the same time the MBR will pick one to always start first, then fail over to the other one if the first disconnects or fails to connect, in round-robin fashion. You can always see which one it is using on the Advanced->Failover page.
3) I can't answer. You may have to talk to Verizon about setting up a data plan; it may just work as-is; it may just work but then you get charged a lot because of your plan. |
