I have a desktop that I am using a Verizon UM150 modem. I would like to purchase a laptop.
I am reading that the only routers that will work with the UM150 is the PHS300 or the CTR 350. I no thingat all about routers. Do they just plug into the desktop and then the UM150 plugs into that? How hard are they to hookup?
Now as far as a laptop goes... is it just a wireless card that I need for it to be able to keep the UM150 attached to the desktop? What specifically do I need to look for in the laptop?
I do not want to have to keep unplugging it to use at home in the laptop. Also, I assume that the router will then allow me to be able to use both the desk top and laptop at the same time w/o having to "buy"another phone line from verizon. I also though would like to be able to use the laptop when I am out in the community or traveling.
This is all so confusing to me!! Thanks for any help! Rolling Eyes

It looks like it is just a matter of plugging everything in.
Let me be sure that I understand everything though to hook a PC to a laptop:
I need-
1 verizon UM150 (which I have for the PC)
ethernet cble
CTR 350 router
As far as the laptop goes all I will need is a wifi card that comes with most laptops.
Doing all of this will allow me to use both PC and laptop at the same time and allow me to take laptop anywhere and connect.
Will this also allow me to print things from the laptop but the printer is connected to the PC? If not, what do I need to do something like that?
