Verizon will be changing their Terms of Service, to allow you to use a router as a Backup internet connection. They are in the process of certifying different routers.

Sprint already has announced this type of functionality.

It really doesn't change anything, it just allows you to do it in the Verizon Terms of Service. Verizon will be pushing this as something to buy when your T1 or dedicated internet connections goes down and you need to keep the connection up.

This may be a great back up for a small business, But a T1? My understanding is that most businesses get T1 to offer resonable uplink speeds. Would EVDO suffice ?

I guess if it is an emergency, it would be better than no connection at all Smile
