|
|
has anyone used their MBR1000 with the option 3.6 GT express card? It appears(by looking @ the LEDs on the card) that it is dialing in & working but when looking @ the connection status on the router screen it is "offline"
Anyone get theirs to work yet? (I have the new firmware)
Thanks! |

What color is the EVDO LED?
What does it say on the Advanced->Failover screen for the EC slot?
What is your carrier (in case it isn't AT&T)?
What does the Status->Modem Info screen say? |

| Sorry for being obvious, but have you tried the express card in a PC to make sure it works there? I know that I have installed the SIM card backwards a couple of times and the lights on the card blink but I don't get a connection. |

carrier is att
card works fine in the computer, lights blink just like they do when inserted into the computer, blink red & blue @ first, then just the blue blinks....
Under Advanced->Failover screen for the EC slot, it sees the card there & the status is suspended....
Under Status->Modem Info screen, it shows the router, carrier status is "DOWN" & the connection status is "offline" |

If the modem is "Suspended" on the failover page that means it failed to establish a connection after retrying several times. It will continue to retry after longer and longer timeouts. So in your case the modem might not be successfully dialing, or it might not be getting through PPP negotiations after dialing.
One thing to try is the AT&T connection manager on your PC or laptop. If that works with your modem, you can check the phone number it is dialing: Connections->Edit Connection Profiles->Edit will show the phone number and ISP on the GSM tab. If it is not *99***2#, then you need to override the default dialer script used by the router. You can do that on the Advanced->Modem Settings page in the router UI. If you look at the corresponding Help page, you can see a good example of how to change the ISP and the number to dial.
Let us know how that works for you. |

Another thing you might try is to disable Advanced -> Traffic Shaping -> Automatic Uplink/Downlink speed. I was told that measurement may upset some modems, including the Option 3.6 express.
I can't vouch for that, as I'm sending this through my MBR1000 and an Option 3.6 express right now and my Traffic Shaping -> Automatic Uplink/downlink is enabled. |

| Glad that worked. If other folks have the same problem with that same modem they may want to drop a note; cradlepoint may need to change the default dialup script in the router for that modem. |
