A lot of time is being spent talking about how VZW is a rip-off with the new plan. More time needs to be spent telling those customers who already have "unlimited" plans that nothing will change for them unless they voluntarily change their voice or data plan. _________________ Further... |

| At this point can get away with murder. They are high and mighty with millions of adds each quarter and "the network." It's obvious a smaller or struggling company could never get away with this. |

This is now on the revised page for data plans: http://tinyurl.com/a9wxy
pretty much, black and white. |

I just got a message from Verizon (via my card). It had me download VZAccess_6.7.1_2044c-Novatel.exe with the explanation it would allow me to monitor my usage and see what I've used anytime I want. Hmmmm, sounds like they are getting ready for the 5GB limit. I wonder if I should update or just leave it for now.
I installed the update and this is what I got when I checked my usage:
I also noticed I dropped a bar (reception).

I can still see my same old usage page. Nothing has changed for me.

freightliner...
I believe you're looking at the usage page logged onto your Verizon account whereas the above is being viewed through the VZ Access Manager software on the computer. 2 separate things.

Firedude,
Thanks for bringing attention to the difference, however, I was aware of the separate views. Since I do not use the VZW access manager, I would not be able to see the same screen that vpnavy posted on my rig.
- My intent was to show that in spite of what seems to be a plethora of reactionary posts, Verizon customers whose data plans started before November '07 are not experiencing any changes whatever. Previous posts in this thread have stated that the online account usage page was missing. Mine was a reply to those posts as well. _________________ Further...

So, I was just boasting to a friend about the wonders of EVDO and was trying to talk him into to canceling his recent order of satellite internet. Since he is in a "low signal" area I actually came here to research antennae’s and came across this posting. This is concerning!! I was not aware of any 5GB limit. I have had Verizon's modem since Nov 15th 2007 and have only ever been charged the monthly fee.
I actually just looked at my usage history and it is as follows.
Nov 22nd 2007----- 1 GB
Dec 22nd 2007-----20 GB
Jan 22nd 2008------4.3 GB
Feb 22nd 2008-----9 GB
Am I understanding correctly that I could be possible charged for anything over 5 GB at that ridiculous rate from here on out? My son and I use this connection for online gaming and my wife uses it for her photography business.
Verizon has sent me NOTHING explaining or informing me of any of this.......
Sprint is not in my area so if this is true, I will be back to 16K dial up!

| I’m safe for now since I activated in June of 2006. However, my two year contract is up in a few months. When/if I renew, am I going to be hit with these new terms of service? Hopefully I’ll be grandfathered in. |

I've now heard from a very reliable source that EVDO will be in San Luis Obispo by June. for sure. I've heard the "for sure" before, but this sounds like it. There is some deadline of some sort that must be adhered to; it's something like 45 days after May 1 or so.
I've been hearing "it's coming in a few months" for years now. |
