Hi
I just purchased a MB8000 I use a AT&T service I have not been able to get my router to see the cards I have Sierra 860 875 and option globetrotter gt max 3g. or change from evdo to one of the other systems that they say they support. This is a new router firmware 5.01 (00004). I had a more complete question but they saw it as spam and are holding it? I really need to get this up and running. No help in the manuals as to what to do Thank you for any help if my e-mail shows up please use it as I need a answer as soon as possible.Hank |

Hi
Thank you for you help. Unfortunately I can't exchange it I received a reply from top global with the link to new firmware? I have not tried it yet as I am not familiar with the procedure! I am really new at this and I guess high price and quality do not exactly go hand in hand?
As I don't have a verizon or sprint account I can't say for sure it doesn't work. I do know it does send some kind of signal as my other computer picks it up see's the TopGlobal and get's a connection off of wifi but can not connect to the internet. Not sure how that happens.
I saw the F grade given it, I was treated at support as if I had the bird flu and was told I need a contract to get help. Even though the quick guide said I would get 1 hr of setting up help. I was replacing a Airlink101 3G router as it broke in three months but at least I was able to talk to support even if in India and then they RMAED it. It's going out tomorrow. I just hope I don't have a several hundred dollar paper weight.
I do need some suggestions as I am stumped.
If anyone has the ability to explain the firmware upgrade as if talking to a 7 year old so I might get it right that would help.
Anyone using it on a GSM system could you please let me know what to expect, I would really like to hear of those who had a easy time of it and how they went about setting it up? They use a TFTP server to upgrade the MB 8000 I have no idea what it is or how to use it although the TopGlobal explanation looks easy (I hope) I am going to give it a try:oops: If I could or if anyone knows are all MB 8000 supposed to use both systems EVDO and GSM or not?
Thank you

Hi
Last night I worked on the download for the new firmware for the MB8000. Not being very familiar with this system I finally got it to complete after about 3 hrs of trying everything I could think of. At least I think it was dine right as it said I had completed the upgrade. I also found that now it see's the Sierra Aircard 875 I used in it. But it still doesn't change to a gsm profile it changed to CDMA from EVDO. My card has come to life but I only seem to get connected through the wired connection and only at a snail's pace slower than a dial up connection.
I am at the end of my limited knowledge about this kind of device. This router didn't come with a antenna. I am hoping that this will help some but know that if it is using CDMA settings I am not going to get the kind of system I thought I purchased. Please if I have not covered what I did well enough ask me and I will try to put it in to words. This was not a spur of the moment purchase I thought I had studied it and thought I would have a more or less easy time but I guess not?
Thank you

Hi
Well it looks like the firmware is the problem they don't have a reliable upgrade for the Sierrra aircard 875. I tried the Sierra 860 this morning and first thime everything was where it was supposed to be! I just don't know why with all of the questions I asked at TopGlobal why they didn't say to use or try the 860. Thanks to those who tried to help.
