I currently have a kpc650 data card with alltel. I have recently purchased a new laptop. I keep one at home and one at work. I was wondering if I buy another data card off of ebay and use it on the same account that I am already using my current data card. This way I do not have to carry a data card around with me.

On a CDMA network like Alltel you would have to contact the carrier to perform an 'ESN Swap' each time you wanted to use a different card.

Depending on the carrier you might be able to do this online directly, via online chat, or you might have to call the carrier's 800# and speak with a support person. After the swap is processed it can take between 1 min and a few hours for the swap to take place with most people reporting a delay of just a few min.
