I'm using a usb727 with my ctr-350 and connecting my laptop through wi-fi. Can somebody please give me a DETAILED step by step walkthrough for setting this up? I've followed the instructions and just cant get it to work for some reason. It wont let me get on everytime I try to secure my ctr-350. I just want it where my neighbors cant connect to my modem if they have any wireless pc's!!! _________________ Keven |

| cavin... if you go to your address bar and type in 192.168.0.1 that will open your router... you then enter your password .....you can then go in to the basic wireless tab and check the box that says require user login name..... then you will go to tools and admin tab and set up a password that you want to use ... this should keep your neighbors off your connection.... giv e it a try and if it dont work just post back to try a different approach!!! |

Ok i did that, but when i logged back into my wifi it didnt ask me for a password. wonder if it would ask somebody else if they were close to my house and detected my modem. I need to get one of my friends to bring their laptop over i guess. Thanks for the help!! _________________ Keven |

If you have your computer remembered in the settings then it will bypass the sign in screen. If you will go in and revoke the reservation and reboot the router it should ask for you to sign in when you try to connect.
If it still doesn't work then I would go back to the Basic Wireless screen and recheck all of the settings. You also need to check the WPA Personal box right above the require user login box. And enter a password at the bottom of the screen.
Reboot to get the changes to take effect. After your sure everything works like you wish, then you can add your computer to be remembered under the DHCP screen. |
