ctr350 works w/ winxp not win2000

I have a ctr350 which works fine with a Dell PC running WinXP, but drops the connection frequently with a white box pc running Windows 2000.

The ctr350 is configured for WEP 128-bit security and is connected to a Sierra Wireless Aircard 595U.

The 595U works fine directly connected to a PC, and is working fine with the Dell Windows XP client.

The Windows 2000 client is using a Netgear PCI wifi card. The Netgear wifi app shows a strong signal strength (80% or greater), but either can't connect or connects, but drops soon after.

Any ideas?
