Is there a way to connect a BlackBerry 8703e to the Broadband Internet Ethernet/LAN Port on a wireless network router (Linksys WRT-350N) so that the cell phone's internet service can be shared by all computers having access to the network? If not, what other options exist to share the cell phone's internet access with other computers on the already existing, small, home network?
I recently saw info about the CradlePoint products, but, those devices apparently have their own wireless radios which seems redundant since I already have a wireless newtork router. All I think I need is a way to plug my cell phone USB cable into the linksys router internet port and some means to dial the phone and make the internet connection. But, this is probably a gross over-simplification on my part. |

thing is, your linksys' usb port was never meant to be used as an internet input, and therein lies the problem.
the cradlepoint router are built for the task, and work great with your phone. many would say the cp admin is superior to linkys...
you might want to read the reviews:

Alex, I had just been looking at the CP website before I started this thread and did not see the the MBR1000 listed there. Thanks for providing the links to those reviews.
Can a Network Hard Drive or Flash Drive be plugged into either of the USB or LAN ports to provide always-on storage space?
Now, my Linksys WRT350N is only a couple of months old; do you know anyone to take trade ins for a MBR1000 when it becomes available?
Thanks again for your help,
KLB |

Seems the capability to add Network Storage, i.e. Hard Drive, Flash Drive, etc., to the router would be a natural thing to Wish for and add to the Wish List I've seen somewhere. Or are there better solutions for a small home network?
Thanks for your info about Cell Phone for Network Internet Access. |
