This topic was posted elsewhere, I am moving it to a this thread. ONLY post to this thread, if you have additional information related to using PC 5220 or Novatel with Dell Latitude 600 (only this model).

I saw this message on another thread on a different board. May not affect you, but if you have one of these or planning on getting one, watch out.

Warning to Dell Latitude 600 Series customers:

DO NOT try the Sierra Wireless card in your Dell. The bus voltage of the PCMCIA slot is slightly different, and it will hose you like a fireman on a burning house. We called Verizon, and they said "oh, that's a known issue". Known issue.......ummm.....I never saw it ANYWHERE on the web site.

So, we've got some of the Novatel cards on order, we'll see if that doesn't work a little better. We'll let you know if the Dell likes them any better.

A well known issue, Actually my V620 card won't work in the bottom PCCARD slot of my Toshiba; its a limited edition laptop so not many other Toshiba users will have that issue.

Thats why Verizon has the 10 day try it out program.

I have a Toshiba PIII from 2001. Haven't used the 5220 in it yet. Experiment time!

Hi...I bought a Novatel V620 card and cannot get it to work. Card works fine on other laptops so I know the card works. Just cannot get it to work with my Dell Latitude D600 laptop. I believe it is the same problem as below. Did you Novatel's work for you? Thanks.
