SMSIWirelessKicker ?

Hi. This is my first post (obviously) and just had a random question..

I'm running a UM150 from Alltel with Quicklink Mobile on a late 2007 MacBook. I was looking at my login items and saw this "SMSIWirelessKicker" and was wondering 1) WHAT is it? and 2) do I need it? I try to keep my Mac clutter-free and don't like things that aren't necessary.

I've searched through these forums and googled it to no avail, unless I've just completely overlooked something.

I removed it.. nothing changed that I know of. Everything working correctly.. but I put it back on just in case.

Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
