If anyone has a specific recommendation I'll look there, otherwise I'll probably get one from eBay.
Is there anything I need to watch out for in terms of buying equipment that way(like something that would cause it to be unusuable etc?) Seems like I remember there was something that should be checked out first, but I can't remember what it was now.
Also, why do so many of those listed on ebay have the PCMCIA adapter removed from the package?
Thanks! |

You'll want to get the ESN from the seller then confirm with Alltel that the ESN is clear before concluding your purchase. You can't activate the card if the previous owner didn't pay their bill, etc.
Don't know why the adapter would be removed but when the KPC680 first shipped it didn't come with an adapter. Speculation otherwise -- the adapter didn't work well and was removed to avoid a hassle? |

| I recently got one from kikaenterprisesinc (http://www.kikaenterprisesinc.com/) on eBay to replace my kpc650, and would recommend the seller. The card was a return from AllTel (check listings carefully, they usually say open box). Works fine though, and had all the bits. |

It came with the adapter. (although I was pleasantly surprised since it wasn't listed in the description) I wouldn't worry too much about the adapter though since there's very little that it actually appears to work with including the KR1. I would heartily recommend Kika Enterprises. |

PCMCIA adapter for KPC680.
Here's some email exchange between myself and DLink tech support.
It almost makes me want to buy a KPC680 with adapter from ebay and activate it.

The Kyocera KPC680 is on the compatibility list.
Please explain how it works in the DIR450 which has a PCMCIA slot, but not an express card slot.
Also, please look at my original message, which asks about the KPC680's included PCMCIA adapter.
Thank you

The card that works is a Kyocera KPC 680 Express card so it doesn't plug into a PCMCIA slot.
We are not aware of any particular issues.
Should you require further assistance with your D-Link products, please reply to this message, or call toll free at 877-453-5465. Thank you for networking with D-Link.

I am currently using a Kyocera KPC650 in my DIR450 router.
I would like to upgrade to a Kyocera KPC680, which is in the compatible list.
Will this aircard work with its included PCMCIA adapter?
I have heard that the included adapter causes problems in the Kyocera KR-1 router.
