CTR-350 and WDS - yea or nay?

For the last couple days I've been trying to get a WDS network set up, with the CTR-350 as the main base station and an Airport Express and Airport Extreme as remotes. According to this post:

this should be possible (I have the 1.7.3 firmware) but for the life of me I can't get it to work. Has this actually been tested to work?

I can get all three routers to live on the same SSID, but I am no longer able to see my internet connection or the 192.168.0.1 config page, and my Airport card is reporting it has a self-assigned IP address.

Things I'm sure about:
- all routers on same channel
- all routers on same SSID
- all routers using WPA2
- only the CTR-350 is serving DHCP addresses
- correct MAC addresses entered in the correct places

It seems like this should be pretty straightforward, but I just can't seem to get it right.

Anybody have any pointers?
