problems with CTR-350 and u727

Just got this combo setup and here are my problems. (I've used Search here and have found a mix of suggestions, but nothing concretely addressing my scneario)

*Sprint U727 shows 1,000kpbs UP / 350kpbs DOWN when connected to laptop.

*Connected to the 350 (using firmware 1.7.3), 400 kbps UP / and 0-15 kbps DOWN.

*The upload section sometimes does NOT even process, and if it does, I get a "your ISP is compressing upload" message.

Also when running speedtest on DSLreports from the 350. Latency reports a very high 410ms.

I'm not using any firewall or secure settings on the router beyond the user log-in. Likewise, signal in my current location is about 85-90.

Are there any particular settings in the 350 that I should look into? Especially with the poor downlaod rates?

OK. Maybe this will help someone out.

I'm not sure what technically happened but, I flashed back to firmware 1.71

...and now by download speeds are averaging 1100+kbps and uploads are 190+kbps (should be be better). Latency is also much better at 164ms.

Did not tweak/change any other settings. I just flashed to the older firmware.
