|
|
Can anyone tell me the best method for removing the battery from the Cradlepoint PHS300? Mine seems to require a dedicated neurosurgeon with a team of assistants! I ordered a second battery from the 3GStore and I would like to be able to swap batteries when one of them gets low. However the effort it seems to take to remove the battery appears to be quite excessive. Perhaps I am missing something and someone has figure out how to handle this reasonably. Help! |

I almost damaged mine. I made the mistake of not getting the MAC address on the bottom of the router under the battery and spent almost an hour using tweezers and a small screw driver. The design is idiotic to say the least. I hope I never have to remove the battery again. |

All that you need to do is you some brain over brawn... Take the battery door off and use a coin to pop the battery out with ease.
I struggled myself with this same issue, but figured a way to remove the battery after looking at the design.
Take your coin and place it just under the "lipped" edge of the battery. You will find this just opposite of the battery contacts and right next to the reset button. Take the coin at a 15 to 20 degree angle and push in a downward motion to release the battery easily each and every time;-) _________________ - Victor |

Thanks. I tried your suggestion, but I still am struggling getting the battery out. The top edge of the battery opposite the contact has no lip at all. I tried every size coin but so far all I manage to do is scar the side of the battery. |

| The coin was actually the first thing I tried before resorting to tweezers and screwdrivers. The coin didn't help at all. |

| i would suggest that once you do get the battery out, you may want to get a strong nylon ribbon inserted underneath the battery to make it easier next time? you know, like the kind you yank on in other electronics to remove their battery packs. |

Well the best item I've found thus far is a wide blade large flathead screwdriver. Just push it in the open slot by the reset button and with minimal force the battery "pops" out.
And, coincidentally, my Ford truck key works just as well. |

Great Idea! Thanks!
You should send this to CradlePoint.
