Anybody know where to download Alltel's Quicklink mobile software for their broadband wireless internet?
I've gotten a new laptop and can't find my old disc. I checked the Alltel site and wasn't able to find the software, then called Alltel Data Tech Support. They sent me Franklin USB Connection Manager software (i use a Franklin CDU 550 modem). It isn't working for me at all. Any ideas besides hitting the retail store tomorrow?
Thanks all

| Cool! I forgot about towertesters little software repository. Does anyone have QLM 4.6.6 installed for their card? I'm still on 4.5.7. |

I've got the 4.6.6 on my card. Just found this site and real new to this EVDO stuff . I was hoping to find a router to set up a wireless network at home using my ec360 card but I guess I'm out of luck for now and my trial period is over. Was hoping to get a macbook pro working with the network. |

I know this isn't what you want to hear -- given that you just shelled out the $$ for the ec360 -- but you can buy a KPC680 on eBay pretty reasonably (<$60?) and do an ESN swap. Then you can use one of the CradlePoint routers. Someone also found a UM150 on eBay pretty cheap recently, too.
In any event, welcome to the forum! |

| And then sell the ec360 on Ebay to recoup some of the cost or, of course, keep it as a back up. |

Hey all, thanks for the tips, I'm REAL new to this technology and am just beginning to get it. I've been reading the forums and starting to comprehend some. This brings up some questions (dumb?) if that's OK, don't really mean to hijack this thread. So if I get a new card and a router as I understand it now I would plug the card into the router and it will automatically connect and create a wi-fi spot in my home? Does it stay connected all the time? Will my dell laptop and the macbook pro then be able to connect to the net? I prolly have more but these wil help me out for now. Sure glad my TDR buddies pointed me over here when I asked a how to question over there!
Thanks,
Ken |

| Yes, is the answer to all of your questions. But because of the nature of the beast you will get a disconnect once in a while. Some get more than others. |
