|

| Is anyone else having problems with enabling traffic shaping on the PHS300? I'm getting javascript validation errors such that there is no way I can submit the form and enable traffic shaping. |

| Try a couple browsers, Java is strange beast. It looks like it can be changed in IE. |

Agreed, must be a browser or OS error. I'm able to view Traffic Shaping on IE on WinVista & Firefox on Mac OS X. |

I can view the page, but if I enable traffic shaping and attempt to save the setting with the button at the top of the page, I get a max transmission rate error, no matter what rates I've chosen.
This happens in the latest versions of IE, Firefox and Opera, with firmware 1.7.1. |

| Hmmm....well if you can't get it to work, maybe write it up and e-mail their support people and see if they can give you an answer. |

| I have 1.7.0 and mine will allow me to use it but I don't. I guess I can't see how it will help any to use it. |

Have you tried saving settings from a different computer? |

Yes, I've tried from an XP and Vista system both, with IE, Firefox and Opera, same results.
Here's the steps if anyone wants to try to confirm the behavior on firmware 1.7.1 for the PHS300:
1. Log into admin interface (obviously).
2. Click Advanced link.
3. Click Traffic Shaping.
4. Check Enable checkbox.
5. Check Automatic Uplink/Downlink Speed checkbox (or choose specific rates if you prefer).
6. Uncheck Enable checkbox in Traffic Shaping Rule (I want to add rules later, but you can also fill out a rule and it does the same thing.)
7. Click the Save Settings button near the top of the page.
The above steps result in an error dialog which states "Invalid Max transmission rate, should be in range (8 kbps to 100 Mbps)"
My intent is to try to assign priority to my T-Mobile phone in order to get the best WiFi calling (Hotspot@Home) possible while traveling and using the PHS300.
I thought about reflashing the firmware, but the device doesn't appear to re-flash the same firmware version, either that or it did and the behavior didn't change.
Torrey, if you or someone at 3gstore wouldn't mind double checking that this isn't a universal problem, that would probably help determine whether it's a bug to be address by a firmware upgrade, or I have a defective unit somehow. |

What value are you setting for the max transmission rate?
I'm pretty sure other customers are able to use this feature without any issues...did you purchase from 3Gstore.com If so, give us a call...sometimes issues like these are best resolved by phone. |

Torrey,
It doesn't matter what rate I choose. I thought that would be clear when I wrote:

I did purchase from 3gstore. Any chance you or someone can just run through those steps to confirm it's not a universal problem? |

Torrey,
I guess I'm going to have to call support, since I can't get you to run this simple test. However, if you look at the steps, it's very simple and should not be causing the problems I'm having. It would have been nice if someone there could have gone through the steps and posted the results.
When I call in, there is no way you're going to be able to tell me what's going wrong without running the same steps on your end. I was trying to avoid having to do this by phone.
I have reset the PHS300 multiple times, and have used the interface with three different browsers on three different operating systems, with the same results consistently.
There is obviously either a problem with my unit, or with firmware 1.7.1 in general. |

WTLeaver,
When you go to select a transmission rate, does it keep prompting you to login over & over in an end-less cycle (if you keep trying to change the transmission rate).
I think I am experiencing a different (but similar) issue than you are, but I will look into this issue further. I will put in a support ticket for this issue. |

I think I have been forced to log back in once or twice while testing.
My main problem is just trying to get the traffic shaping enabled. Even if I check the "Automatic Uplink/Downlink Speed" box and try to save the settings, I get the transmission rate error I decribed earlier. Have you been able to duplicate that problem? |

Yes, I was able to duplicate this issue. However; it has been fixed in the newest version 2.0 firmware for the PHS300 |

Yep - I noticed.
I do get some sort of weird javascript error dialog on every page with the new firmware though. If it bugs me enough, I'll provide the details. |
