|

Hello, Alltel customer here. I bought the UT Starcom UM 150 and I was wondering if it was pretty much the same thing as the Verizon UM 150? They look EXACTLY the same with only the logo "Verizon" and "Alltel" being the difference.
I was planning to buy a UM150 Booster Antenna and the Cradlepoint CTR 350 router from 3gstore and I just wanted to make absolutely sure that the Alltel UM150 will work with it too.
Thanks. |

| I'm pretty sure they're the same. Safest bet would be to write sales@3gstore.com and ask. |

What sort of speeds do you get with that combo, crystal. I'm looking to invest in the Alltel UM150 and Cradlepoint 350 too....

Well, you really can't go by my speeds as I am not in an EVDO area and can only run 1X. It's the only thing I can get in my area besides very poor dial up, running through a very poor phone line system, and sattellite. 135-143k down 78-80 up for me. And that is zooming fast compared to trying to split a slow dial up connection between two computers. The router has been allowing us both to share a bearable connection with minimal slowdown, and has worked without a hitch using a laptop with vista and an old desktop with XP. The sales rep claims that Alltel is upgrading towers in my area, so who knows, maybe I'll get EVDO someday soon
I wrote more about my experiences in the thread called "considering Alltel, some questions" in this forum. |

Same setup here too, but also have the wilson trucker antenna (omni). I'm out of the alltel coverage map area, but with the antenna it still works, but does not without the antenna. Normal download varies from 600 - 1000k and uploads are usually about 100k. Not blazing, but way way better than dial up. I did drive into the coverage area with the laptop, but the speeds did not increase for me.
Got the cradlepoint 350 from 3gstore, had to upgrade the firmware they sent along (piece of cake to do) and it works great with one minor exception. Every few days, the cradelpoint informs me of no connection, but a simple reload of the web page, and its back.
I sould also mention blazing fast shipping from 3gstore. |
