I need to know in plain english how to fix this problem as well. I have the xbox 360 wireless adapter with a um150 modem on my pc.

Are you saying that i don't even need the wireless xbox adapter? And all i need is the CTR 350 plugged into my xbox?

I've had the um150 for 5 months now and I've had no luck with a solution to trying to get on xbox live.

What do I need to do to in order to get this rig running? I'm not that computer savy. ...more of a plug n play type of guy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have a router, but my understanding is that these routers from 3gstore you can just plug your modem in and you have your connection running without any Access Manager software. Now with that said, Does the router have any ethernet ports on it? If it does you should be able to just plug the xbox straight in the router and go. Now I am not a 100% sure on this so I could be wrong.

Does the routers for this type of service actually make your speed faster?

because all cradlepoint routers incorporate "WiPipe" technology, most customers who have made the comparison between ICS and use of a router, do perceive a difference in online gameplay.

some see a lot of difference, some see not as much but still justify the router because of simplicity it provides over ICS, and reduced wear and tear on the PC that was acting as host.

whether or not you will justify the router is a matter of trial and error, really.

get the CTR350 from the EVDO Experts and in your order notes put: "please include the 3gstore gaming tipsheet" (more about it here)

you'll have access to our tech support guys who have helped many get their game on, and you'll have the security of our 14 day return policy.

Alex,

I am using ICS for gaming and I have not had any issues yet, but I have thought about buying a router just for the wireless capability so I could share all devices through my home rather than connecting wires everywhere. My question is will I get more speed with my evdo device with the router in place?

you are asking for an absolute answer, and we can't give that to you.

as i explained in my earlier post, many people will see better speeds, and some will not.

the variables include the processor and network card on your PC, as well as how good you are at messing with TCP/IP settings.

Thanks, Alex. I'm sure I'll be making a purchase for a CTR350 router sometime after xmas.

I have another question...

Does it matter which service provider you have for the UM150 modem? I'm going through Alltel. Is Verizon better or does it even matter? Is there a major difference between Alltel and Verizon's TCP/IP settings?
