Hi everyone, I just wanted to post my experience with this product. First 3gstore.com is an excellent place to buy from. I've had nothing short of fabulous service.
I just installed my CTR350 with my 595U for my Sprint service. I had been using ICS and basically was using the DIR-655 as a router. ICS was flaky and tempermental at best.
Well I plugged in the CTR350 and used my laptop to update the firmware. I then plugged the CTR350 into my router and everything works flawlessly. There was no tweaking or odd issues whatsoever.
This firmware update was exactly what I was looking for, because I didn't want to run a router that didn't have wireless-n for my house. Now I have it the way I want it.
If I only had one issue, It would be that I don't see a switch in the CTR350's settings page to turn off the wireless. So i just put the power to low and encrypted it and hid the SSID. Everything is working like a charm.
If anyone has setup questions, just post her or IM me and I'll try to help.
My current setup includes:
1 - Windows Vista Premium system with dual tuners for my satellite service. This records all programming.
2 - WHS computer - has all my media and archived TV programs as well as all my movies.
3 - Office computer with Vista Premium - connected wirelessly
4 - three X-box 360's used mainly as extenders for all my TV's as well as for gaming. One is connected wirelessly.
5 - Laptop with built in wireless
I am awaiting my Linksys DMA 2200 extender which will replace one 360 in the bedroom. I'm still debating how I will employ the system in the living room. |

I just received my CTR350 today. I'm trying to convert from ICS as well, but I'm having issues. My lengthy description is post #28 (the last one as of right now) on the '3GStore CTR350 EVDO Router firmware enables ethernet as LAN' topic if you wouldn't mind giving that a read.
When I plug in my 595U the internet connection and the wireless seem to go off and on. I also did the firmware update from my laptop first thing, but I haven't had any luck. Any help you may offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks |

hotrod,
I suggest contacting either CP's support or if you bought it from the 3GStore then contact them. Reading your other post it sounds as if your CTR350 is bad. |

I THINK I have it all worked out. I've had enough for today, so I'll get back at it tomorrow. However, I am online now through the 350 and the Linksys so things are on the up and up.
Thanks for taking a look at things! |

Basic Group, Wireless Section, first item is "Enable Wireless Radio"
If you uncheck it, you turn off the wireless radio...

Bill,
I don't have an option to turn off the wireless radio on mine. I have firmware 1.7.3
Hotrod,
I read your post and it seems you are working through it. I was going to suggest the same thing about having an IP conflict. The D-Link routers default is 192.168.1.1 so there is no conflict. I have DHCP enabled on both devices with no problems. My only worry is having UPnP problems with 2 routers, but so far there have been no issues. |

morgan72,
Thanks for the reply. Everything seems to be working well now.
I think the Linksys default is 192.168.1.1 as well, but because I was using ICS I had changed it to 192.168.0.x.
I think I'm in good shape now. Thanks again. |

I currently run Windows Vista on a desktop. I have a cable modem that I connect to a D-Link DIR-655. From the router I have ethernet to my Vista PC. I have wireless to my home XP laptops and another ethernet to my son's XBOX 360.
I am moving to an area where I will need to use wireless internet. I have the Sprint U727 USB card. I was trying to find a EVDO router to use with it and had decided I needed to go back and get a card from sprint instead of the USB. I was going to purchase the d-link DIR-450.
After reading this are you saying I can plug this Cradlepoint CTR350 into my current D-Link DIR-655 and run my desktop, laptops, and XBOX 360 just as I am today?
Any help appreciated with steps involved. I have been reading for days and had decided on one solution but this sounds much better. |

As well as help with the installation after you receive the router. They support the equipment they sell. |

mr_mark95,
My bad, I thought you were just wanting a how to list about the hookup. The Cradlepoint CTR350 EVDO should work very well with your existing setup using the USB727 and the D-Link DIR-655. I was just trying to make it easy for you by suggesting you call the 3Gstore for help. You can use a cat5 patch cord to connect between the two routers. Because with the current firmware on the CTR350 you can't turn off the radio part of the router you will need to set it for a different frequency or channel than what your DIR-655 wireless router is operating on. |

You don't need to do anything on the D-link, but on the CTR350 I put the transmitting power to low and set it to a different channel. I also encrypted the wireless and turned of the SSID broadcast.
I wish there was a switch to turn off the radio all together but this works fine. |
