|
|
Has anyone had any success getting syslog to work on the CTR-350? I've tried to get the CTR to log to a system via the wireless connection, and directly connected on the ethernet port with no success. I'm running 1.7.3 firmware. I've also tried sniffing the traffic from the PC, and there is no indication of syslog traffic from the CTR.
Thanks |

Just checking but you are running a syslog server on your computer right?
If you don't run syslog services or a server on the computer then you aren't going to get any information. |

Yeah - I'm running a KIWI server. I've tested sending syslog messages from another system to KIWI.
Again - I've run a (wireshark) on the PC and never see any packets from the CTR-350 (udp 514). |

foodog,
I can get syslog information to my KIWI service running on a wireless XP client.
The only suggestion I can make is to make sure the IP address of your syslog server machine is either a) static or b) has a DHCP reservation on the CTR. If you don't then everytime you reboot the CTR, the wireless XP client will most likely get a new IP address which will therefore not match the IP address you setup for the syslog server.
Hope this helps. |

| So.....I stand partially corrected. After a while I stopped getting anymore syslog entries. Hopefully someone from CP is reading this and can fix this. |

Yeah - I have a static IP assignment for the server. So you actually were able to get syslogs to work - at least for a period of time? I have not been able to receive any logging. |
