|
|
Verizon has asked me if I want to upgrade my V620 pc card. They are willing to give me a $100.00 off.
If I did, it would be a PC card not an express or USB card. I will break one of those for sure. So my question is, would upgrading do anything for me? Speed, battery life, reception, etc.
Thanks Folks! |

| I assume yu have EVDO? If there is Rev A then the speed increase would be significant.. Or if you are happy w the 620 then keep it and be hapy you are not in any contract with VZ. I assume if you take the upgrade then you are going to renew your 2 year contract... is that worth it? |

The loser at Verizon that I talked to said that I wouldnt have to renew, but I thought that sounded to good to be true. Do I for sure?
I think the v620 supports REV A? Anyone know? |

620 is not Rev A.
Get it in writing from VZ you are now not under contract if you take teh discounted price. If you were to buy the card outright it would prob be 100-199 purchase and then you have no contract. However, you can keep the g20, buy the rev A cards and try it for 30 days |

Thanks for your tips.
It turns out that I just purchased a IBM (Lenovo) T60 laptop which comes with, or supports the addition of, an internal mini pci EVDO card. However it's BIOS only supports the older rev 0 card.
Of course I can still get to RevA via a PC or Express card, but I thought I would let you guys know.
The newer T61 supports the Rev A card. According to some folks that seem to be in the know, Lenovo isn't going to upgrade the T60's BIOS. Strange!
So I am stuck with an Express, USB or Pc card if I want RevA.
I couldn't find a used marketplace in this forum. If anyone has a used or cheap v740 card, please let me know. |
