The free card offer is nice. But don't bother with the Sierra card. Go with the Novatel card, which consistently performs much better.
I was wondering why Sprint would even bothers offering the Sierra card. But it does perform within their marketed range and uses less bandwidth on the network so they may continue carrying it - for their benefit, not end users. |

Maybe they offer it just to give users a choice? Maybe it's cheaper (costs them less)? Maybe they have a warehouse full of 'em that they bought before they got the Novatel cards in?
As to the bandwidth, I'm not sure I understand how one brand of card can use more or less bandwidth than another. How is that possible? |

I would agree with the above statement, that the Novatel S620 will outperform the AirCard 580 and if you have a choice, go with the S620.
BTW, we have heard that the Kyocera KPC650 was recently approved by Sprint, so I would bet that card will be in their lineup shortly.
BTW, one reason for the Sierra AirCard 580 might be for specific laptop compatibility. If you look in our Success or Failure forum (or do a search), you will see if you have a Dell Inspiron 6000, the Novatel and Kyocera Cards do not work, but the AirCard 580 does.
BTW, check if you are running specific laptops with Sprint, post your success or failures at:
