|

I received the PHS300 today and it is working well so far with our Sprint BB 8703e.
Setup took about 3 min. and speeds seem good. The unit looks well built, very easy to use and understand. I will post more when I get a chance to play around with it more.
Here is my speedtest.net on Rev 0 today with the PHS300
UPDATE:
I have everything configured as I want it now. I set everything up to mirror my primary home router so that if I need to 'fail over' I just need to change the SID on the PHS300 and check on the DYN DNS updates, switch the home router off, and all of my home clients will connect to it with no further configuration.
I am at 1hr 25min so far on battery power with an 8703e and still 'green'.
UPDATE:
The battery lasted for exactly two hours to the min. with constant Web usage via the 8703e. This was the first discharge of the battery so it might get a bit better as time goes on.
As for the battery, it is made by Honeywell and bears model number HBKX12-LI - 3.7V 1800mAh Lithium Ion. There is no reference to this model on the Honeywell battery site or via Google. It is either a private label for CP or a brand new model. I plan on emailing Honeywell to see what they say about it and any cross reference to other devices that it works in. I takes up the entire battery bay so any significant increase in Ah would likely require something that 'sticks out' from the bottom of the router. |

This is the easiest device I have ever installed that has actually had no issues with a power PC MAC.
I missed the FedEx guy because I was out back in the hot tub, but just got back from the FedEx office and it is up and running and has me logged in to the EVDO forums.
I was looking forward to a major drawn out process getting it set up and working great... I am so excited!
My only regret has nothing at all to do with the device... turns out I have been paying for tethered data on my Verizon BB-8703e for two years without even knowing it.
Thanks!!! |
