I am starting to have problems with my kr1. Ive had it for about 8 months and all was going well on alltel with kpc650. External yagi 6 miles from tower with a -76/-79 signal. I was consistantly getting 1000 down 125 up until about 1 month ago. Now I can get that for about 2 min after a reboot but then the router page starts to show 3 bars and dialup speeds. Put tha card in laptop hooked up to same antenna and all is good. Put the card back in the router and back to bad speeds. Ive tried everything, updated prl, updated router firmware to 1011 and rolled it back to 1010 and it is still acting the same. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or has seen this problem.

I also noticed that on speedtest.net when the card is in my laptop it shows me as being in michigan which is good. But now when the card is in the router it shows me as being down south like texas, arkansas area which is not right. And that is when my speeds and pings go down. Occasionaly I can get the kr1 connected and showing MI with decent speeds but It will quickly switch to down south.

I've heard of hardware going south, but usually it isn't so literal.

Which EVDO device are you using?

Are you connected wirelessly or via ethernet (and does shutting wifi off make a difference)?

On my KR1 the internal wireless card was just a bit loose and caused unusual problems.

Also, is it in a hot or cold area (or did it recently become so as the weather changed)?
