I purchased a Pearl 8130 on Dec 1. 2007. I went from a Sierra 595AC (air card) to the BB. I originally had the 40 dollar BB data plan that included phone as a modem (PAM). Everything worked great except for the PAM. I would not work at all. I was getting an error saying the call could not be connected, Please try again, popping up on my computer screen. I contacted Sprint who after many battery removals, start provisioning, uninstalls and reinstalls we could not get it working. They started a ticket on my phone. This was the first day I had it.
Approx 2 days later my phone as modem was still not working. I wanted to change my plan to include the power vision with the GPS navigation. I called and changed my plan to the 30 dollar plan and had phone as a modem added on for and additional 15. I had them take a look at the ticket and they said the ticket had not been looked at and it would take at least 72 hours for processing. I made a comment about the next day being 72 hours and the guy promptly asked if the person before him had explained that the 72 hours is business hours. That 9 business days or 15 total days in my case. That was a bummer right there but I am one to give them the benefit of the doubt. I fiddled with my settings a bit that afternoon and started getting an new error that replaced the old error. It says to dial #777 or have the operator do it and press ok. If you click ok, it has an error of #678 pop up after 7 – 10 seconds.
Today I called checking on my ticket, and the girl that answered in the BB department asked if she could try something new. We tried removing the battery while the BB was connected to the USB cable and rebooting the computer. It’ didn’t work. She said she would get with a supervisor to escalate my ticket for a 24hr response. I’m not to sure I can get excited about that.
I am stuck as to what to do.
Below I am listing things I have done on my own as well as at request of Sprint techs.
Got fresh downloads of Desktop manager and connection manager
Tried desktop manager ver 4.2 and 4.3
Changed phone plan
Reinstalled desktop manager and connection manager in different order
Reset phone by removing battery
Start provisioning
Got desktop manager off of the BB site
Question, does anyone know what the internet option on my cpu should look like? Should I have a dial up connection for my black berry and what are the settings that should be checked, clicked or whatever?
Here are my specs….feel free to ask about other information.
Sprint
BB Pearl 8130
Vision plan (30 dollar plan)
Phone as a modem
Dell Latitude D610
Windows XP Pro
Thanks in advance,
Ryan |
