Sprint EX720 and WRT54G3G-ST compatibility? (UPDATED)

I'm new here, and just diving into the EDVO world, so bear with me if I ask a dumb question. But here's my story.

I work for a large company that is graciously allowing me to start working from home. I live in the sticks and don't have access to cable or DSL. My company's Virtual Office Group recommended going wireless. I'm 3.5 miles from the nearest Sprint tower and appear to get a strong signal. My company provided me with the Sprint service and a EX720 data card. They also bought me a Linksys WRT54G3G-ST router. Problem is, I can't get it to work. After several mind numbing conversations with Linksys Support, I finally got to a tier 2 support guy that actually spoke understandable english. He's telling me the EX720 is not compatible with this router. Is this true?

The box the router came in says it is configured for Sprint Mobile Broadband Service.

Since I'm unable to get any help from Sprint, Linksys, or the Virtual Office Group, any help or suggestions you can supply would be gratly appriciated. Thanks

Alex did Sprint just bail on the Expresscard -> PC Card adapter for use in the WRT54G3G-ST (much like they did on the whole upload issue)?

kevin, you would be much better off with a cradlepoint router using the usb-to-expresscard adapter.

this picture shows a verizon v740 setup with adapter and ctr350,
but the EX720 works as well, and with either CTR350 or PHS300:

I realize I can use a different router. However, what I like about this one is the fact I can use it with a regular connection as well, meaning I can link it to other routers or use it at home with my DSL connection--if I need to. Additionally, being a (Cisco) router with multiple ethernet ports, it has a lot more flexibility.

What it sounds like I'll have to do is contact Sprint and get the S720, which I really don't want to do as I like the express size--and I already have the PCMCIA adapter.

I downloaded Openwrt and followed the instructions posted here. I did have to manually set it for Sprint as a dialup modem but it works great. 1.5 - 2meg dowload speeds. I took me an hour.

I did make one mistake I forgot my password to login as admin. If I press the hardward reset button on my router what will happen? What is the default login?

Appreceiate any help on this issue.
