I used the poster board that has styrofoam wrapped by
paper. I traced 4 truncated triangle shapes (shown below)
in a fan like arrangement. (each truncated triangle sharing)
(one side of the other) I also included small flaps on some
sides so I could cut away one side of the paper and the styrofoam
and after bending the board could glue this flap with super glue.
I also included a larger square with flaps to enclose the small
end of the finished pyramid.
It's best to score through the styrofoamed poster board on one side
and bend the pieces along that with the scored paper side on the
outside.
(Ultra realistic holographic computer generated pic below)
(Also you CAN see the other holographic triangles fanned out)
(sharing one side so when bent and glued to form a pyramid with)
( the small end covered with a flap, CAN'T you??)

Oh yeah, before gluing this pyramid up use that photo spray glue
to attach one or two layers of kitchen foil on the inside of the pyramid.
After the pyramid is glued up with the tin foil on the inside, cut a slot
in one triangle so you can insert the Booster Antenna.
This little trick is not my own creation. (Bet you thought I was a genius, huh??)
I found this creation on the web, but the creator used it for a USB wireless
adapter. Its just a modified Cantenna. (Yes I have on occasion been a bad boy)
This antenna raised my signal in the Sprint Gui from 89 to 74.
This is pretty cheap. Styrofoam board is just a few bucks. Kitchen foil, super glue,
and spray adhesive are not too expensive.
I'm sure some EE can give you measurements based on some dark math skills
that will allow you to get signals from Mars, but I just made this big enough to
contain a booster antenna about half way inside the pyramid.
(Aim this towards the nearest tower, or insert a USB adapter and aim it at)
(your neighbo... No don't do that, some people are now getting arrested and)
(charged with stealing broadband internet service.)
Have fun... |
