Darren,
Glad the new KR1 is working better. MY WRT54G is pumped up on transmit power with third party firmware so it t really gets out big time. If you have one of the newer WRT54G's you can't as far as I know use firmware such as DD-WRT as Linksys blocked the functionality to do such. (3rd party firmware)

Now as far as the dropped signals? I haven't experienced many and I'm in what you would call a fringe area as well. I was also running in the wireless mode and not tethered to the KR1 (wireless mode on). I found that simply clicking repair the IP worked fine again without a reboot of the KR1. Now that I'm using the WRT54G (KR12 wireless mode off) as my access point and I still get an occasional drop, I simply click repair and it renews the IP address without any reboots. Just food for thought. Glad the new one seems to be working right for you..Smile

Tony

I've had time to check out the new configuration and it seems really stable. I ended up putting a wireless card in my desktop and now all laptops and desktops are totally wireless. I discovered the repair connection that you described when I have problems (which is very infrequently).
All I can say is it sure beats dialup or satellite Laughing
Thanks for all your help Cool

Darren,
Glad it all worked out. My setup I described above works flawlessly and when the range is not needed the KR1 with the 9dbi antenna from the folks at 3G definitely does the trick. Either way I've not had one problem and a happy camper!
