And a local backup configuration (that might survive reflashes or anything else). That way I can take a working or standard normal configuration and store it, but play with the config for a conference or to try to fix something, and then when I want the old working one back, I just click "restore".

ftp or microbrowser (upload and file manager) for the micro SD or other storage now common on the USB EVDO modems.

I'm not sure what is meant by multi-link, but what would be very slick in my opinion is a dual wan router, like what exists in the wired world. Though I do not have one, I know it is possible to have a cable modem and a DSL modem attached to a router in your house/office. The router can balance the load on the two wans or can route all traffic through one in the event of one wan being down.

What I would like is the ability to plug in more than 1 EVDO card, one with Sprint service and one with Verizon service. A requirement of different form factors would be acceptable, say one with USB and the other with ExpressCard. While most people would want this as an either/or, it would be nice to use both. Then you would have seamless internet access, whether you were in transit or in a different city from yesterday. In all cases you just use your wifi connection and let the router handle the rest.

I'm assuming there is no way to bond the two services to double the bandwidth for a single connection (big download, VPN, whatever), but if you had multiple users banging on the router, some might be going through Sprint and some through Verizon (transparently). Anyone else want a dual wan?

A way to disable the "bounce" page, i.e. when no USB modem is connected nor a WAN connection. On firefox, it was reloading some pages, and instead of reloading the correct page or giving the normal "could not load" with reload option, I got the bounce page.

I really like my CTR-350. I would like to see the following additions:

1) support for the CTR to perform VPN tunnel connections for remote office deployments.

2) addition of manual settings for Dynamic DNS to BIND with TSIG keys.

3) Enable HTTPS for management of the cradlepoint. Maybe even force HTTPS for remote management.

4) SNMP support - traps and snmp gets.

The USB connector is in the corner, so it might not be too difficult to add a swivel so it could connect out either face, or perhaps even upward.

Conversely, instead of the "N" power connector, use a USB-miniB like most other 5v devices.

This is already implemented. Go to Tools tab --> Admin page --> Save and Restore Configuration (at the bottom of the page).

After using the PHS300 for a while I would like to suggest a profile feature that would allow one to quickly switch settings.

For example, Profile 1 could be used for normal use where security and encryption are desired and Profile 2 could be used to share the unit as an open access point.

I don't know if it has enough internal memory to store the settings but it would be a nice feature.

Request: Disable the wireless radio.

I have seen this in other wireless routers, and with the new way the "LAN/WAN" port works, one might want to disable the wireless radio for various reasons, including power savings, security, and "air wave pollution".

Already there.

Basic Group, Wireless Section, first item is "Enable Wireless Radio"

If you uncheck it, you turn off the wireless radio...

Not quite. I have to save it to an external device first, then upload it later.

I just checked this on my CTR-350, with firmware version 1.7.3, its not there.

However, under advanced wireless, you can adjust the power.

IIRC, both of these settings are identical with firmware version 1.7.0 (however, I reserve the right to be wrong).

And a circuit board redesign to pivot things.

Right now, the small size is lost because it must Tee with connectors on either side, i.e.
Code:

LAN---[xxx]---USB
Power-[xxx]

If every connector came out one side, say the bottom (pivot the power and USB 90 degrees), things would fit in a case more easily when plugged in.

e.g
Code:

USB---[xxx
Power-[xxx

Power saving, maybe by proxy.

I have the CP on most of the time, but often I'm not updating or doing anything with the link. If the CP would shut off the EVDO modem (and perhaps other hardware) after the connection was idle for a time, but reestablished it when I make a new connection. I might be able to leave it on battery for much longer. It would involve a pause while the connection was made.

Dial-on-demand is a fairly old technology.
